The Missouri Department of National Resources invites students from kindergarten to 12th grade to enter a video contest about earthquake safety. Share your knowledge about how to prepare for an earthquake in a 90-second video, and submit it by March 31, 2011 to enter.
Videos can be funny, informative, entertaining or all of the above. Make it on your own, with friends or with your class. They will be judged in three grade categories: Kindergarten - 4th, 5th- 8th and 9th - 12th. All entries will be featured on the Department of Natural Resources' YouTube channel.
One winner will be chosen from each grade category to receive a Missouri Rock and Mineral Set and a Quake-Catcher earthquake sensor for their classroom. A grand prize winner will get a special prize and have his or her video shown at the 2011 Earth Day celebration in Jefferson City.
