Spate of Car Break-Ins, Property Theft on or Near S. Kirkwood Road

Kirkwood police received a number of recent calls of car windows being smashed out and thefts from vehicles.

 

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Monday, Feb. 25:

At 3:09 p.m., police were called for a theft from a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Kirkwood Road. Miscellaneous household items, a cell phone and money orders were reportedly stolen from the car, but no forced entry was made.

Tuesday, Feb. 26:

At 4:40 p.m., police were called to the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a theft from a vehicle. Police said the driver’s rear window was broken out of the car. A backpack and bible were reportedly stolen.

Saturday, March 2:

At 10:40 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of West Jewel Avenue where the driver’s side window of a vehicle parked at a residence had been shattered. Nothing was taken from the car, but the victim reported a similar incidend in January.

Sunday, March 3:

At 4:13 p.m., police received calls for thefts from vehicles from the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Investigators said two separate vehicles were broken into and had their driver’s side windows damaged. A piece of luggage and book bags were reportedly stolen from the vehicles.
