Deli and Grocery Comes to Kirkwood Doors

Kirkwood Deli and Grocery delivers on taste and service and now brings it all right to your door.

Sam Abdallah opened Kirkwood Deli and Grocery six months ago with a unique menu of sandwiches, hot dogs and gyros. His big plans didn’t end there, however. Last week Kirkwood Deli and Grocery rolled out new menu items and a delivery service, just in time for the cold temperatures.

“We are proud of our menu and our customers really like our food, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep modifying,” said Abdallah, who unveiled a selection of four new soups last week and plans to add five new sandwiches within a month.

“The soups are priced well and (are) delicious flavors,” Abdallah said. The four new soups are: Ultimate Loaded Baked Potato, Broccoli Cheese, Lobster Bisque and Cheesy Chicken Enchilada. They can be purchased as an entrée or in a soup/sandwich combo.

But the biggest news coming out of Kirkwood Deli and Grocery is its new delivery service. Imagine sitting on your sofa, watching a big game. You’re hungry but don’t want to miss a minute of the action. No worries, call Kirkwood Deli and Grocery.

“We will deliver everything on our menu, including our new soups. We will also deliver all of our grocery items, except for alcohol – no beer, wine or liquor,” Abdallah said.

There is a $15 minimum order with a $2.50 delivery fee. The store will deliver anywhere within a 3-mile radius from the store, Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-9 p.m.

“We have no delivery planned for Sunday right now, but we will re-evaluate that if the demand is there,” Abdallah said.

Need lunch, drinks and toilet paper? Call Kirkwood Deli. Need chips, dips, candy and soda for a party? Call Kirkwood Deli. Don’t know what to have for dinner but don’t feel like going out? Call Kirkwood Deli.

“No one in St. Louis is doing this, delivering food and grocery items,” Abdallah said. “But I don’t think we need to be in a big city to support this idea. This brings convenience right to your door and I think Kirkwood will embrace this.”

Another new item at Kirkwood Deli and Grocery available in the coming weeks is gift cards. These may be the perfect holiday gift for the Kirkwood High School student on your list.

“We have a really nice relationship with all of the school kids. They are respectful and well-behaved; their parents should be proud,” Abdallah said. “I tweet daily lunch specials just for KHS seniors, so give them a gift card and they can come enjoy something other than fast food for lunch.”

Six months after opening the doors of Kirkwood Deli and Grocery Abdallah is thrilled with the success of his business.

“It’s one of the best things I’ve done," he said. "I got a warm reception from the community. I’m looking forward to delivery because I think it will be great for everyone.”

We're thrilled to still have our corner shop, and even happier the deli is open until 9pm now.
