Kirkwood Farmers' Market Gets New Festival
The first Kirkwood Farmers' Market Apple Festival will celebrate the fruit with cooking demonstrations, music and tons of samples.

Kirkwood Farmers’ Market merchants are welcoming fall and celebrating the local apple harvest with an Apple Festival on Saturday, Sept. 1. This event is Kirkwood Farmers’ Market’s first Apple Festival.
Visitors to Kirkwood will enjoy apple samples from local farmers as well as apple related treats and menu items at Kirkwood Farmers’ Market. Visitors to the farmers’ market will also have the opportunity to compare different varieties of apples.
Apple lovers will learn to make a delicious apple and pork entrée. Travis Thompson will demonstrate how to prepare this appealing apple dish at 10 a.m. Following the cooking demonstration, The Lulus will add to the festivities by performing their bluegrass and Americana music.
September is a great time to visit Kirkwood Farmers’ Market. Apples and many local vegetables such as peppers, tomatoes, squash and more are available from local farmers on Saturday mornings.
“Visiting the farmers’ market and enjoying the Apple Festival is a great way to begin your Labor Day Weekend and pick up some fresh cooking ideas using seasonal ingredients,” said Kori Thompson, Kirkwood Farmers’ Market Master.
September 1 Schedule of Activities:
8:00 a.m. - Farmers’ Market Opens
10:00 a.m. - Cooking Demonstration by Travis Thompson
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. - The Lulus perform
10:00a.m. to Noon - Taste and compare varieties of apples and samples of apple treats.
