Comments made during a Tea Party Express Event last Thursday against Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) triggered U.S. Capitol Police to contact the Kirkwood Police Department to help increase security for the senator, Politico reports.

According to POLITICO, local police have been asked to step up patrols near McCaskill's home in Kirkwood after Scott Boston, a conservative activist, made a statement during the event in which he said, "We have to kill the Claire Bear..."

In December, Boston formed the Gateway Grassroots Initiative along with Jennifer Ennenbach, Stacy Washington and Dana Loesch. The group is dedicated to advancing conservatism through targeted action, according to its website.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch Washington Bureau Chief Bill Bill Lambrecht tweeted Wednesday that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is going forward with an anti-McCaskill ad buy, "calling her most vulnerable Dem incumbent."
