Local Harvest Cafe Announces Plans for Kirkwood Location

The popular dining and shopping spot in Tower Grove South announced today plans to open a Kirkwood store by August.

The popular South City eatery Local Harvest announced today plans to open a store and café in Kirkwood by August.

A grocery store selling meat, dairy, produce and baked goods exclusively from local, organic and sustainable sources will open in the 6,000 square feet of retail space formerly occupied by McDonnell’s Market.

The café will seat 40 people and offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

“We look forward to being in the Kirkwood community,” the store wrote on its website. “The new store will dramatically increase the accessibility to fresh, locally grown produce in the area.”

The announcement follows a report Sunday that Local Harvest entered into a lease agreement with Kirkwood Mayor Art McDonnell.

Local Harvest Grocery, Café & Catering will expand to 12309 Old Big Bend Road.
