Local Harvest Cafe Looks to Open in Kirkwood

The St. Louis organic grocer and cafe has entered into a lease agreement with Kirkwood Mayor Art McDonnell to occupy the retail space that formerly housed McDonnell's Market Place.

According to St. Louis business news and gossip site WhoLou.net, Local Harvest Cafe plans to open a Kirkwood location this summer at the retail space formerly occupied by McDonnell's Market Place.

Kirkwood Mayor Art McDonnell told WhoLou.net that he has reached a lease agreement with Local Harvest Cafe co-founder Maddie Earnest and a group of investors.

Pending approval from the Kirkwood Zoning Commission in April, McDonnell said the group intends to operate as a grocery store and cafe and is looking to open in July or early August.

Is this still going to happen? There doesn't seem to be much activity going on at the former McDonnell's Market.

It is still going to happen, but the opening has been pushed back from the original target date. Thank you for asking. I have a message into the owner to get more details.
