The man pleaded guilty last January to assaulting another woman in 2010.
A man slammed his girlfriend’s head on a kitchen counter and then prevented her from leaving to seek help, Glendale Police said.
William Greggory Buffington, 47, of the 2300 block of Pheasant Run Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged with third-degree domestic assault and false imprisonment last week.
Glendale Police said Buffington injured his girlfriend April 27 in the 800 block of Queen Anne Place in Glendale, and then restrained her from leaving.
Buffington pleaded guilty on Jan. 30 to assaulting a different woman in November 2010.
Bail was set at $10,000, cash only.

DV is a nightmare that touches more than 1 in 4 women in her lifetime. In this country, on average, 3 women and 1 man, lose their lives each day due to DV homicide. DV violence is the leading cause of injury to women - more than car accidents, muggings and rapes combined. Every 9 seconds, in the US, a woman is assaulted or beaten by an intimate partner. One in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, 1 in 4 are a DV victim, shocking, twice as many women are affected by DV than breast cancer. How many purple ribbons did you see in October? Along with Breast Cancer it is also DV Awareness month. Learn what you can about DV. Speak up and break the silence of DV. I just did.

Thank you for helping raise awareness on this painful and difficult problem. It is also important to remember many children are traumatized by witnessing domestic violence.
