In a matter of 23 seconds duirng the first half of a field hockey battle between Ursuline Academy and Burroughs, a breakdown in the Bears' defense led the Bombers to drive the ball past Ursuline goalkeeper Eby Ness twice, breaking open a 1-0 lead for a 3-0 score before the second half. The Bombers would go on to win the game 3-1.

“It just seems like we played a lot better in the second second half,” Ursuline’s coach Roxanne Naeger said, noting that the game was the first time Ness had played goal.

Ursuline senior Anna Maggiorotto scored on a drive from point blank range in the second half.

Naeger was resolute in defeat. She believes the Bears still know how to finish their scoring opportunities and attributes the loss to a short lapse in defense.
