POLICE: Woman Tries to Flee Accident Involving School Bus

Kirkwood police later located and arrested a driver who allegedly struck an occupied school bus on Interstate 44.

 

An accident involving an occupied school bus on Interstate 44 in Oakland did not result in any injuries but did lead to an arrest.

At 12:01 p.m. Thursday, Kirkwood police received a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an occupied school bus on westbound I-44 near South Berry Road, according to the Kirkwood Police Department.

Police say the vehicle that struck the bus fled the scene of the accident before officers arrived. Police later located the driver and arrested her for leaving the scene of an accident.

UPDATE: Kirkwood police told me this morning that officers were able to locate the suspect thanks to a witness who spotted the driver's license plate number.
