Kid-Friendly Pottery Painting Studio to Open in Kirkwood
Pottery Hollow moves to the heart of Downtown Kirkwood with its first Missouri location.
Pottery Hollow, a do-it-yourself art studio, is scheduled to open its first Missouri location Monday at 116 North Kirkwood Rd., next to the Rusted Chandelier and Dewey's Pizza in the location formerly occupied by Barry Sales Engineering, Inc.
Pottery Hollow customers select pottery and put their personal touch on items by painting them. Owner Travis Giger sees Kirkwood as a perfect location for the kid-friendly business.
"Kirkwood is a great area to grow our business because of all the shops and small businesses. People walk around a lot and Kirkwood is very family friendly," owner Travis Giger said.
Giger said kids ages 3 and up should enjoy the experience of visiting Pottery Hollow. Sessions typically last 60-90 minutes. Pottery Hollow does not charge a sitting fee, and supplies are $8 for adults and $5 for kids. Customers are only charged one supply fee regardless of how many items they choose to paint.
The Kirkwood location will be the third Pottery Hollow. The locally owned and operated business has two Illinois locations, one in Glen Carbon and the other in Fairview Heights.
In addition to offering a fun activity for kids, the store also hosts Ladies Nights and accommodates group events. The business offers fun for the whole family, Giger said.
