St. Louis Synergy, which is part of Metro Edge Figure Skating Club, has seven synchronized skating teams that will be competing at the 2012 Show-Me State Games on Saturday. The competition begins at 5 p.m. at the Webster Groves Ice Arena.
Our highest level teams, Synergy Intermediate and Synergy Novice, are heading to the 2012 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Worcester, MA, Feb. 29 through March 3.
The intermediate team earned a gold medal at the U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) Midwest Sectional Competition, which was held Jan. 26 through Jan. 28 in Plymouth, MI. The novice skaters, including junior high and high school students, earned a pewter medal at Midwest sectionals.
We are holding a raffle for an Ipad 2 at the ice rink on Saturday. All proceeds will benefit the Synergy Nationals fund. Please show your support of our teams by purchasing a ticket!
Our preliminary team, comprised of mostly 9 year olds, also earned a gold medal at sectionals, which was a first for a Missouri team at their level. These girls skate to a baseball theme, parallelling the St. Louis Cardinals 2011 season.
The juvenile team, made up of 10 and 11 years olds, skates to a circus theme. It has also performed at a St. Louis Blues Hockey Game halftime show.
Our IJS training team will also be skating on Saturday, as well as our beginner team (jungle theme) and our youngest, cutest team, the Synergy Tots (princess theme).
