According to St. Louis business news and gossip site WhoLou.net, Local Harvest Cafe plans to open a Kirkwood location this summer at the retail space formerly occupied by McDonnell's Market Place. Kirkwood Mayor Art McDonnell told WhoLou.net that he has reached a lease agreement with Local Harvest Cafe co-founder Maddie Earnest and a group of investors. Pending approval from the Kirkwood Zoning Commission in April, McDonnell said the group intends to operate as a grocery store and cafe and is looking to open in July or early August.
