A Post From the Hopeless

This post is about my job searching spiraling into a dark tornado of nothingness.

I have given up. Or at least that is what I want to do. In the beginning, I really didn't want a job, I just wanted to get my parents off of my back. Now, I'm desperate. I would probably even resort to nannying the worst kids ever born. Okay, maybe not that far, but try to think of something semi-torturous and I would do it.

The other day, I went a restaurant in Downtown Kirkwood to get an application, and found my brother's friends there. One of them came up to me, wrapped his arm around, we exchanged some small talk, and then he asked why I was up here. I replied by saying I was applying and he told me he was the cook. Now I have a recommendation, so I was super excited. He told me to get his number from my brother, so I did.

I texted him the next day telling him I was going to turn it in and he should recommend me. Never got a text back. Thanks for the help.

After I turned in that application, I went to another restaurant on the same block. One of my friends from Call was the hostess, and she became all excited that I was turning in the application. Good start, right? Another Call member was there and said she would go get the HR Manager to come and talk to me. This time, I was prepared for the questions.

I'm waiting at the hostess stand for a couple of minutes. One of the girls comes back and tells me he is too busy today to talk and to just hand her the application and she will give it to him. It was four o'clock and half the restaurant was empty.

I'm drained from the stress. My teacher's tell me it is the economy, my parents tell me it is the college kids coming back from college, and I tell myself I'm going to be jobless for the rest of my life. My next post will probably be about how I got five fat cats and a new Plasma Screen TV (that my parents paid for, of course).
