Using Verizon Wireless Technology to Secure Indiana Cities and Towns Remotely

Security Pros President and Founder Chris Gilbert is changing the way Indiana cities and towns  manage their security needs for everything from public parks to city festivals with innovative solutions using machine-to-machine (M2M) technology.

From his business base in Jeffersonville, Ind., Gilbert helps city managers secure a variety of government-owned public areas through smart technology. The solutions, which run on the Verizon Wireless network, allow remote areas to be monitored and controlled while cutting costs and reducing risk.

While in-person security guards can’t be everywhere at once, remote systems provide security guards and police with the tools to supervise large events, track suspects and secure video verification – even in crowds attending tourist destination events. Agencies then can expand their security force to oversee events and facilities and have a “force multiplier” effect in their communities, Gilbert said.

Gilbert’s M2M solutions that tap the security of Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network allow managers to proactively monitor security on their smartphones or tablets with real-time video. His company was one of the innovative M2M providers showcased at Verizon’s Connected Technology Tour in Indianapolis

Gilbert said cities and towns across the country are also eligible for Homeland Security grants to improve security systems in their communities.
