2 Senior Dogs Need Loving Homes

Meet Daisy, a 13-year-old Border Collie, and June, a 7-year-old Pomeranian.

Meet Daisy

Daisy is a 13 year old border collie available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project.

Little Daisy ended up loosing her home when her owner passed away, it must have been a rough situation for her and she is now looking for another family of her own. Daisy is an older gal but she still gets around very well, in particular if it involves giving or getting a hug! She is a very affectionate girl and she would love to share her love! And if she is in need of some TLC she will make her way to you and pat you with her paw or nudge you with her nose until she gets a hug or two!

Daisy is partially deaf but she does great at coming if she sees you pat your legs, she does get startled sometimes if you reach for her when she can't see you because she also can't hear you approaching! However Daisy is very soft mannered and has not acted aggressively whenever she has gotten startled.

Daisy would make a great pet for any household, she does well in a crate, is potty trained and gets along with other pooches. Please give this older gal a second chance! If you would like to meet Daisy or other adoptable senior and not so senior dogs stop by the Kirkwood Petco this weekend.

Thank you to the St. Louis Senior Dog Project for introducing us to Daisy.

Meet June

June is a beautiful 7 year old black Pomeranian that came into rescue from a breeding facility. She is happily learning how to be a pet and loves to prance around the house to see what is going on. She sleeps quietly all night in an xpen in the bedroom and is well behaved in the house.  Because she is afraid when you go to pick her up, she needs an owner who will be patient with her. Once you slowly pick her up, she then decides it is fun to sit on your lap and snuggle.  All this girl needs is her own forever home and some time to learn to trust people and she will become a wonderful companion.

Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. We do home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies.

We are at the Kirkwood Petco every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. This store is located on Lindbergh just north of I-44. Turn left at the first major stoplight.
