Bichon Frise, Poodle, Need a Loving Home

Meet our Adoptable Pets of the Week: Lucy Lu and Holly.

Meet Lucy Lu

Lucy Lu is a senior bichon frise available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project.

Lucy Lu is on the hunt for the perfect retirement home, her main requirements are a nice warm bed and someone to cuddle with. Lucy Lu came to our group in pain. This poor gal had a huge bladder stone that made her miserable.

Fortunately, the stone has been removed and Lucy Lu was placed on food that will help her avoid future bladder stones.

Lucy Lu is a sweet dog that loves to snuggle and play; she would make a great companion to a senior citizen or almost any home. The one requirement is that Lucy Lu's future family commits to continue with her current diet in order to avoid future bladder health issues.

Lucy Lu is a member of the Red Ribbon program and her adoption fee is only $50 if adopted by a senior citizen.

If you would like to meet Lucy Lu and other adoptable dogs stop by this weekend at the Kirkwood Petco from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or check them out on our website www.stlseniordogproject.org.

Meet Holly

Holly is beautiful 8-year-old toy poodle.  She came to us from a breeding facility with bad teeth, flea infestation, severe ear infections and three malignant mammary tumors.

Inspite of all this she is a very happy and affectionate dog. Holly is calm and well behaved in the house and gets along great with other dogs. Her ear infections and flea infestation have been resolved .

Recently, she had surgery and the tumors were removed. She had a dental with 13 teeth extractions and she was spayed. She is going to need a few days to recover from all this but soon will be ready for adoption from someone who wants to help a breast cancer survivor.

Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. We do home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies.

We are at the Kirkwood Petco every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. This store is located on Lindbergh just north of I-44. Turn left at the first major stoplight. Please visit our website at:www.seniordogs4seniors.com
