Immigration in St. Louis

What is the status of immigration today in the St. Louis area? Who are the groups that are settling here now, and how does that compare to in years past? What does it take to settle a new immigrant here, and what is that experience like for the immigrant? Paul Costigan, Vice President and Director of Program Development and Quality Assurance at the International Institute of St Louis, will help answer these questions for us, and speak about the role and work of the Institute, the programs it offers, and what populations are currently being resettled in the St. Louis area. He will share stories of the successes and struggles that refugees encounter, the long process in how they come to St. Louis, and what the general community can do to welcome newcomers and to highlight the benefits of a diverse local population to their neighbors.  (Childcare will be available during these Sunday morning classes, if it is requested. Please notify the Church Office ONE WEEK before the session & arrangements will be made to provide childcare on the Sunday morning requested  314-822-2240)
