Grace's Glendale Bus Stop Catches Eye of Nation

Colleen Mehan started a Facebook page about her daughter's Metro bus stop in Glendale for two reasons.

"First of all, distributing the photos from Grace and Tom’s bus stop events was getting pretty busy, so I thought it would be easier to share the love via a social network. Secondly, there’s a bigger message here than holiday fun at a bus stop," Colleen said in an email that announced the launch of Grace's Glendale Bus Stop.

Today, Kirkwood Patch is happy to announce that the bigger message Colleen refers to is being shared with readers across the country. Grace Mehan is Huffington Post's "Greatest Person of the Day" for April 18. The publication directs readers to our story about Grace and her bus stop published earlier this week: .

So far, our article has gained more than 350 recommendations on Facebook. The page itself, which launched April 9, now has 353 likes and counting. 

This is the second time a resident profiled in Kirkwood Patch has been featured on the Huffington Post. Tricia Gaines was the Nov. 29 "Greatest Person of the Day." Gaines helped organize an extreme home makeover for a local family in need. (See: )
