Kirkwood Store Goes Beyond Books

"In the Stacks" returns with a look at the Kirkwood Public Library's gift store and some finds that might surprise you.

We return with our weekly look at what's happening at the (KPL). This week we step inside Books & Beyond, the library's book store to bring you fun finds for kids and adults.

PERSONALIZED NOTE CARDS We now offer a line of personalized note cards -- and a "fill in the blanks" thank you for children. You choose from one of four designs for the cards, fill out an order form to let us know the name and address to imprint on the card and envelope and within a week or so these special cards will be ready for you to pick up. They cost $10 for a set of 10 and Friends members receive their 10 percent discount.

SILK FLOWERS IN GLASS VASES Our ever-popular vases have been decked out with resin "water" and lovely silk flowers. Prices vary. Stop in and see for yourself how pretty these are.

LIGHTED DECORATIVE PILL BOXES Take your medicine with you in style! $6 each.

ALPHABET MAGNETS Fun and educational, this will let your young one have fun and learn at the same time. $3 each.

HALF PRICE SALE

We have two areas in the shop with merchandise that is marked down 50 percent. There is a variety of items for adults and children alike, including:

  • Mizzou items,
  • book marks,
  • nightshirts and
  • standing wood signs with cute sayings.

And for the children you'll find:

  • Squish Surprises,
  • slap watches,
  • flip-flop charms,
  • decorative zipper pulls and fun animal pencils.
