Meet Rex

Rex is an 8 year old labrador retriever mix available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project.

In Rex's former life he was an outside dog and when he came to the St. Louis Senior Dog Project he was very matted so he is now sporting the short hair look for a while because his hair had to be shaved. He is now looking forward to regaining his medium length coat in time for the first snow!

Rex would like everyone to know that his lovely blue eyes are not his only attribute, in addition he is super friendly with humans of every size, he loves to be petted and enjoys playing fetch. We would not like Rex to know but the vet did say he needs to loose a few pounds so a home that would enjoy taking him for walks would be a great place for him! This pooch is also crate trained and knows some basic commands. Rex would be happy in any home that is willing to open their door and hearts to him.

Meet Tammie Lou

Tammie Lou is a beautiful seven year old yorkie who came from a breeding facility.  She is a good little girl and is learning how to be a pet.  Her teeth were so bad that they all had to be removed but she does fine on soft food.  She has made some great progress in learning to trust people and to enjoy snuggling with her people.  She does need a forever home with someone who will continue to be patient with her.

Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. We do home visits and ask for a $200 adoption donation for adult dogs and $300 for puppies. 

We are at the Kirkwood Petco every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. This store is located on Lindbergh just north of I-44. Turn left at the first major stoplight.
