Magic to Stay Free Forever at Kirkwood Landmark

A $1 million grant from Emerson will allow The Magic House to continue its monthly Free Family Nights forever.

Accessibility for all families is part of the mission, and now the Kirkwood institution can guarantee that visitors can forever enjoy the museum for free.

A $1 million grant from Emerson makes it possible for The Magic House to continue hosting Free Family Nights forever, according to museum spokesperson Sara Kahre. The money will cover the cost of opening The Magic House in the evening once a month, free of charge.

"One thing that's really important to the Magic House is to make sure everyone, regardless of economic status, is able to experience the beauty, wonder and joy that is The Magic House," Kahre said.
