I never thought I'd be able to say I was excited about going to jail.
And, O.K., I'm not really going to jail. And I'm not going to be in the next edition of Mugs in the News, either. But I did get a phone call from the Muscular Dystrophy Association saying that they had a warrant for my arrest.
Admittedly, my first reaction was, "Um?"
After a little explanation, I was on board. The MDA is hosting a Kirkwood and Webster Lock-Up fundraiser event at Cyrano's Cafe in Webster Groves May 16. I was selected along with several community figures to participate as "jailbirds." Our goal: Raise bail.
So, yes, I am excited. I am honored to have been thought of to participate, but I am also stoked to pitch in.
As I get started raising my bail, here's how you can help out. Check out my MDA profile page and spread the word. If you feel so compelled (and I'd be especially grateful!), please donate any amount to the MDA through my page. Seriously -- even a dollar is stupendous!
Keep checking in to see how we're doing with bail, and I'll certainly be posting photos from the event at Cyrano's later. If you're going, give me a holler!
