  • Hope Unlimited
Hope Unlimited is an outreach organization focusing on at-risk youth in the Meacham Park neighborhood. Through tutoring, mentoring, Bible study, summer camps, work training and job placement programs, the organization strives to help kids grow into productive and successful members of the community.
  • Youth In Action
Youth In Action is a volunteer organization that performs community service projects, both to help those in need and to provide young men and women opportunities to get involved in their communities. Recent projects include Room at the Inn, a local emergency shelter program, and Kids Against Hunger, proviting nutritious meals for families in Uganda.
  • Midwestern Braille Volunteers
From their office on North Kirkwood Road, Midwestern Braille Volunteers transcribe all kinds of written materials into Braille for the sight-impaired. They specialize in textbooks for elementary and secondary school kids, but can also locate Braille versions of any other text, or transcribe it themselves at request.

  • Annie's Hope provides bereavement support for children and families grieving the loss of a loved one. Programs such as counseling, support groups and retreats help kids and teens deal with a sibling or parent's death. Support them by donating supplies, money or your time.

  • Rebuilding Together is a volunteer organization that repairs and rebuilds houses for low-income families in the community, particularly for elderly or disabled homeowners. The organization also works on community centers, playgrounds and other public projects.
