Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble Returns to St. Louis

On October 24, Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble will return to St. Louis for a brief residency at Kirkwood High School where they will give workshops on performing contemporary music and then perform in a concert in the evening.

In preparation for their upcoming debut album, to be released Fall 2013, Quince has commissioned adventurous and trailblazing composers who have created eclectic and energized new works especially for the ensemble’s warm tone and musical prowess. Quince has developed a program that is at once driving and spacious, emotional yet unrelenting, that explores the varied and endless possibilities of the voice.  From auxiliary percussion to aleatoric barbershop harmonies to inward singing, there are no boundaries to Quince’s musical undertakings.
