The Homewreckers took center stage Saturday night for a late night Webster Grove's pub crowd to deliver a rich blend of original hits off their 2001 album "Firecracker" and the band's newly released album "Nostalgia."
In addition to unleashing their own innovative sound, The Homewreckers also threw in some old school favorites from artists such as REM and Tom Petty.
The band's supercharged guitar riffs and euphoric vocals were well received by a high spirited audience.
"I can tell that they put a lot of work into this set. They're having tons of fun with it, and so are we," Webster Groves resident Matt Stout said.
The Homewreckers are currently number 52 on the ReverbNation Rock charts for St. Louis, thanks to widespread local support.
The cast of players includes songwriter Mike Fitzsimmons as lead Guitar and vocalist, Chris Keale on the Drums, Dan Niewoehner as rhythm Guitar and Mike Evans on the Bass Guitar.
RJ Laury with Bar Room Productions presently manages the band.
The Homewreckers first began performing locally in 1998 under Fitzsimmons's direction. Around that time, Cindy Clink, Donna Mingo and Ron Bickel also joined the ranks.
This original group was responsible for recording the 2001 CD "Firecracker," featured in STLtoday.com and the Riverfront Times.
Since then, drummer Chris Keale joined The Homewreckers after previously playing for local band Earl. David Brickey also jumped from Earl to The Homewreckers in 2005 to take over bass guitar.
Mike Evans teamed up with The Homewreckers in July 2010 to replace Brickey when he recently retired.
This new crew has been working on a fresh recording project for the past two years called "Nostalgia." Local engineer Jack Petracek has extended a helping hand in the studio to tie the loose ends together.
On January 28, 2011, The Homewreckers released the CD "Nostalgia" at The Crack Fox Bar in Saint Louis.
