Flash Flooding, Power Outages and Storm Damage in Kirkwood

After Monday afternoon's storms rolled through, power outages jumped in Kirkwood.

Update: June 17 at 9:30 p.m.

Ameren's outage map shows restored power to Kirkwood customers after storms rolled through the area Monday afternoon and early evening.

Update: June 17 at 5 p.m.

A flash food was reported through the St. Louis County Office of Emergency Management at Kirkwood roads South Fillmore Road and East Clinton Place. 

Twitter user Kaitlin Hartman (@_khart) shared a photo of a tree down on Essex Avenue near the soccer field at Kirkwood High School.

Ameren's outage map shows 860 customers are without power in Kirkwood as of 4 p.m. Monday.

A storm system began its way across the St. Louis area Monday afternoon. The Weather Channel shows stormy weather could stick around through the evening. 

Kirkwood Patch reader also shared a sighting of hail, roughly the size of a penny in diameter. The National Weather Service issues a flash flood warning for St. Louis County until 10 p.m. Monday.
