Murder Charges Issued, One Suspect Still at Large

Authorities are still searching for one suspect in connection to the Kirkwood murder earlier this week. Meanwhile, Keenan Miller is in custody and charged with second degree murder.

The Kirkwood Police Department has charged Keenan Miller, 18, with second degree murder armed criminal action and attempted delivery/distribution/sale of a controlled substance. Authorities allege Miller Miller was delivering drugs when Brandon Richards, 18, was shot and killed in Kirkwood Monday.

Meanwhile, police are still searching for Nicholas Lunceford in connection to the crime and say he is considered armed and dangerous.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department in a news release Tuesday evening. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On Tuesday, June 18, 2013, the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants charging Keenan Miller, 18 YOA, of the 900 block of Baltimore in Oakland, Missouri, with one count of murder 2nd degree, one count of armed criminal action, and one count of attempted delivery/distribution/sale of a controlled substance.  Miller was delivering marijuana for sale and present when the victim, Brandon Richards, 18 YOA, was mortally wounded at #9 Pleasant Court, Kirkwood, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 17, 2013. A bond of $100,000 cash only was assigned.  Miller was transferred to the St Louis County Jail.

The Kirkwood Police Department is still actively seeking Nicholas Lunceford for the shooting death of Richards.  Lunceford’s whereabouts are unknown, as is his method of travel, and HE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.  He possessed a handgun at the time of the homicide.
