Fashion Friday: Fall Scarves

Over the past few years, scarves have become must-have fashion accessories.

"They've picked up momentum more and more every year," said Sarah King, owner of in Kirkwood.

At Blush, you can find a variety of fashion-forward scarves, including a multi-animal-printed, brown-toned one with leather fringe that comes from the celebrity-driven line Tolani.

At the price of $178, the scarf is an investment, but it can be worn in a multitude of ways with a variety of looks.

"It's an easy way to change your look," King said.

Turn a classic t-shirt and jeans look into something a little edgier by adding the Tolani scarf in a cowl-like wrap around your neck. As the temperatures start to plummet, you can add a fun leather jacket over the scarf to help keep warm.

For something a bit more formal, this Tolani scarf, which is a bit larger than the typical pashmina, can be converted into a shawl to wear over the shoulders with a little black dress.

If you're looking for a little more simplicity, head to in Webster Groves for a blue-and-brown-striped Howard's scarf ($14.99), which can also be worn in a variety of ways.

"It's an easy accessory for any outfit," said Becky Mueller, Jennie Annie's manager.

The scarf adds a fun touch to a white lace top and a pair of jeans when you do a cowl-like wrap around your neck. You can also try a knot-tie with a tunic and a pair of leggings.

The scarf is ready for work when paired with a long belted-sweater, a basic button-up shirt and a pair of leggings.

Ultimately, the way a woman wears a scarf, whether it's printed or plain, can be a statement of her personal style.

"There are so many possibilities," Mueller said. "Think outside the box with the scarves."
