Burger King in Kirkwood is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a green twist on Saturday and Sunday. The fast-fast food chain is offering all customers a free order of value-sized fries, complete with green Heinz dipping sauce.
The company said in a press release that the offer is its way of offering customers the luck of the Irish some gold of their own—a “pot” of golden-brown fries.
“Free fries for St. Patrick’s Day weekend is the BURGER KING® way of sharing the luck of the Irish with all of our guests,” said Alex Macedo, senior vice president, North America marketing, Burger King Corp. “We’re especially excited to have teamed up with Heinz, makers of America’s Favorite Ketchup®, to offer a fun and festive green dipping sauce on the side.”
While green ketchup seems fun for St. Patrick’s Day, it didn’t have much success when it was sold in supermarkets about ten years ago, the Huffington Post reports.
“Once the initial novelty wore off, people stuck to the color they knew and loved: red,” reads HuffPo’s report. “But if you can get past the unusual color, the fries (new recipe!) could definitely be worth sampling.”
No purchase is necessary to receive the fries, but the sauce will be available only while supplies last. It's one fry (value size)/green sauce container per customer.
