The store will be the second of its kind in St. Louis, with another in Forest Park. The Des Peres facility is replacing a former Marble and Granite Worldwide warehouse at 2117 Sams Drive.

ReStore General Manager Josh Vaughn said the Des Peres space is nearly double the size of Forest Park's, totaling roughly 48,000 square feet in comparison to 25,000. ReStore locations benefit Habitat for Humanity through sales of construction and home materials, including some decor items. A release from ReStore said most products in the shop are donated and reused, but it also offers new purchases.

"If you're replacing items that can be reused, we're interested in it," Vaughn told Patch

ReStore also offers a deconstruction service for those interested in donating kitchen, bathroom and other household materials and appliances.

"We come to you and remove the items, and get you set for install," Vaughn said. "It's cheaper than hiring a contractor and the items are eligible for tax deductions."

ReStore in Des Peres is hosting grand opening festivities with food trucks and giveaways from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 20. Regular store hours will be Wednesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
