From a perfect pair of jeans or jeggings to adorable dresses, Lillians in Kirkwood has a wide variety of fashionable clothing and accessories for women.

If you're looking for a simple denim outfit to wear out to lunch or shopping, start with a pair of D9 Denim jeans ($62) then add a brown Niki Biki tank ($16), a white Esley jacket ($54), a brown Big Buddha bag ($68) and some turquoise jewelry ($18 for a necklace and earrings set).

For something a bit more fun and feminine, try a pair of Sutter jeggings ($38) with a light pink flowered Lulvia top ($40), a light pink ruffled Tosca bag ($46) and some chunky pearl jewelry ($38 for a necklace, earrings and bracelet set).

If you're looking for a cute patterned dress, Lillians has you covered. Try a blue and white-printed Esley dress ($48) with a black David Jones bag ($30) and some silver jewelry ($20 for a necklace and earrings set, $10 for a ring, $10 for a bracelet).

If patterned dresses aren't your thing, the shop also has several solid-colored short dresses, including a light grey Ya dress ($42), which looks great when paired with a pink Tosca crossbody bag ($34) and some silver jewelry ($30 for a necklace and earrings set, $8 for a bangle set, $10 for a ring).

With summer coming to a close, longer dresses can be helpful with the changing temperatures. Lillians has a Mai Tai maxi dress ($62) that looks great with a statement necklace ($20) and a Tosca bag ($38).

The Facts

Lillians is part of a chain that started with two sisters a few years ago, but two different sisters brought the store to Kirkwood in November 2010.

Erin McCulloch and Leslie Borgmeyer opened their store at 205 N. Kirkwood Rd. on Black Friday, continuing their family's tradition of owning their own businesses.

"We looked for something we had a passion for... something exciting for Kirkwood, a little different," McCulloch, who is a Kirkwood resident, said. "Lillians offers high fashion at a lower price. We chose Kirkwood because we love the small-town feel even though it's in the center of a city."

If you would like to check out Lillians for yourself, keep in mind that the store is only open on the first weekend of every month (Thursday through Sunday), along with other select days, including every Saturday and Sunday in August and September. McCullogh said their limited hours allow for the shop to continually have new deals and discounts for customers.

"When you walk in the door, you're going to get a sale," she said.

The shop will be having its big back-to-school sale the first weekend in September, and the specials include cardigans and crossbody bags for $16 each.
