Kirkwood Employee Turns to Internet for Puppy's Surgery

Support for a puppy in need of a $5,500 surgery is rolling in after her owner, a Kirkwood restaurant manager, turned to the Internet for help.

General Manager of Bar Louie Kirkwood Andy Palmisano is determined to give his puppy the best care regardless of the cost.

Palmisano's German bred rottweiler puppy Kujo will have to undergo knee surgery on both of her back legs soon. The operations total $5,500.

When Palmisano's friends found out about Kujo's situation, they helped him put out a call for assistance on GiveForward, a crowdsourcing site for medical and other causes.

Since Kujo's story went live, the pup has received $980 toward the $5,500 goal. The online fundraiser ends March 20.

"I appreciate any support thrown our way in order to get this pup back to 100 percent," Palmisano writes on GiveForward.
