'Roots and Blooms' Bunny Needs a Name

Help out the new business in Kirkwood and share your best name ideas for one of the store pets.

Bunnies are typically not a gardener's favorite animal, but Roots and Blooms in Kirkwood lets them make themselves right at home in the garden shop.

Roots and Blooms, the new garden center and gift shop at 915 South Kirkwood Road, is springing into business with a grand opening Friday, March 22. As part of the celebration that starts at 11:30 a.m., owner Jenniffer Elliott is looking for a name for one of the two store pets...that happen to both be bunnies.

One already has a name: Tucker. Elliott said his name was easy: "We called him Tucker because he tends to tuck himself up into a ball."

But the other bunny is nameless and Roots and Blooms is awarding the visitor with the best name suggestion with a gift from the store.

While the bunnies are not for sale, Elliott said Roots and Blooms loves to emphasize shopping local, providing products from area artists and craftsmen. Flowers, plants, garden ornaments and other gift items are available at the store.

Roots and Blooms is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
