NHRA course helps members prepare for PHR/SPHR certification

             Members of the National Human Resources Association, St. Louis Affiliate are invited to a free preparatory study group for Professional in Human Resources/Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification.  The study group will meet for 12 two-and-a-half hour sessions on Thursdays, Sept. 5-Nov. 21, 6-8:30 p.m., at the Lutheran Hour Ministries offices, 660 Mason Ridge Center Dr., St. Louis, MO 63141.

            The PHR/SPHR refresher course is intended for those who plan to take the certification exam during the winter test window, which runs from Dec. 1, 2013-Jan. 31, 2014.  The study group will include a structured view of the materials, unit tests and insights from a subject matter expert.

            According to NHRA President Debbie Hilke, “This study group as a proven track record in successfully preparing human resources professionals for gaining their certification.  Our members who have taken this course have a terrific success rate in passing the exam, and we are excited to provide such a great member benefit.”

            To become certified, human resources professional must meet strict professional experience and education requirements.  H.R. professionals need to gain recertification every three years.

            While the refresher course is free for NHRA members, nonmembers can attend for a $250 fee.  Participants must purchase the Human Resources Certification Preparation study materials, which are available at a reduced price for attendees.
