Comments from Patchland: Cicadas—a Tasty Treat?

The week in comments brought a nice diversion from some of the serious stories we've dealt with and a chance to talk about lighter fare—including fairs. And eating cicadas. And cake. "Some of the folks who run the rides and carny games are friendly, many seem pretty grizzled, burned out and bored. In an age when kids play hyped-up video games, there seemed to be scant interest in the quaint and overpriced carny games. All in all, it seemed a rather joyless event. Maybe the other days were more energetic."
