Keep Your Train on Time: Fall Back on Sunday

Don't forget: Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Turn your clocks back an hour before you go to bed Saturday night. Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

So why the picture from the ? One of our favorite radio programs, Radiolab, did an entire hour about the concept of time. According to the show, what we think about as time is rooted in the railroad industry. Without accurate measures of time, how do you keep the trains running on time?

Don Oliver, a Town and Country resident who volunteers at the station, noted that Amtrak accounts for the time change on its passenger trains. From its passenger guide: "At the fall time change, Amtrak trains traveling overnight will normally hold at the next station after the time change, then depart on time."
