Support Still Needed for Iraq Heroes Welcome

St. Louis will be the first major American city to officially welcome the troops home from Iraq, on Saturday.

Saturday is Welcome Home the Heroes Day, and St. Louis has the privilege of being the first major American city to officially welcome the troops from Iraq. A parade in their honor kicks off Saturday at noon in St. Louis.

The historic event became a reality thanks to a grassroots effort to Make January 28th Welcome Home the Heroes from Iraq Day. See previous story: .

Even though the organization met its goal of raising $25,000 to make the parade a reality, donations and volunteers are still needed, and residents in and around St. Louis are stepping up to the plate, as evident from ongoing posts to the group's Facebook page.
