Thunderstorm Causes Power Outages in Kirkwood

Downed power lines and power outages were reported in Kirkwood following a storm that swept through the area Saturday evening.

Update, 8:51 pm, from Kirkwood Patch Facebook:Power out in Romine neighborhood and half of Dovergate does not have power. No damage reported.

Update, 7:40 pm, @KirkwoodCity city reports power outages in various areas of Kirkwood. The city is working to restore power and thanks residents for their patience.

Update: 7:27 pm: Kirkwood dispatch says there have been reports of downed wires and utility poles. 

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for St. Louis County until 7:45 p.m.

Tree damage, 60 mile per hour wind gusts and some hail have been reported around the Kirkwood area.

Locations impacted are Town and Country, Valley Park, Manchester, Ballwin, Chesterfield, Clarkson Valley, Ellisville and Peerless Park.

Please stay inside until the warning has been lifted.
