Tornado Sirens in Kirkwood Will Be Retested
Select, new emergency sirens will be re-evaluated this week, after last week's retesting was postponed due to weather reasons. Kirkwood is among the three targeted municipalities, according to a KSDK-TV report.
Certain new tornado sirens installed in , Wildwood and St. Ann during the past year will be retested Feb. 1-8, due to possible sound coverage gaps reported during a previous tornado warning.
St. Louis County Department of Highways and Traffic and Public Works Public Information Manager David Wrone told KSDK-TV while a specific, scheduled date for retesting has not been announced, the tests will not be conducted on Saturday or Sunday.
Retesting of sirens originally scheduled for last week was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
