The “Christmas Story” and Biblical Stories of the Birth of Christ

During the Advent season, we hold many Christmas traditions dear to us that are all a part of “The Christmas Story.” The story of the birth of Jesus is well-told & well-known to Christians. In this study we will explore the Biblical roots of Christmas, and listen deeply to how the different gospel writers tell (or do not tell!) different stories of Jesus’ birth. Through this careful listening we will seek to refresh and expand our thinking about what it means to await the incarnation of Christ in our world even today. Join us on December 2 and 9 as we explore the Biblical roots of Christmas, led by Rev. Dr. Deborah Krause, Academic Dean and Professor of New Testament at Eden Theological Seminary.
