It Takes Two to Talk - Workshop for Parents

It Takes Two to Talk ®-The Hanen Program for Parents offered by the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic.

“It Takes Two to Talk” is
a program for parents of children (2-4 years old) who have language delays and is conducted by the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood Language Disorders (www.srclinic.org). “It Takes Two To Talk” provides strategies for
children with general language delays and is not appropriate for children
diagnosed with autism.  There is NO COST for parents to attend this workshop.

Parents learn practical ways to help their child learn
language during everyday interactions. Parents benefit from eight group
sessions (parents only) and three individual sessions (with their child). All sessions are conducted by the licensed professional speech language pathologists at the Clinic.

Parents are
invited to an Orientation Session to
be held Wednesday, January
15, 2014
from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Maryville University Sunset Hills Campus where they will learn all of the details. Parents
can decide after the orientation if this program is right for their
child. RSVP by or before January 10, 2014 to attend the orientation. RSVP's are required and spaces are limited.

Parent group
sessions will be held Wednesday evenings
from February through April at Maryville
University Sunset Hills Campus.
The

Orientation and Group sessions are for parents only and childcare will not

be provided.

If you know a child who is not saying many words or is not
putting sentences together, have the parents call to set up a screening.  Children must be screened by the Clinic
before participation.  Call the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic at 800-358-5656.  Ask to speak with (therapists) Jacob Gutshall or Ali

Manahan for more information.
