Seminar -- Understanding PVD

Understanding Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) --Wednesday, September 25, 6:30 pm, Conference Room 2. Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) is a common circulation disorder that affects mostly people older than 50. Smokers and people with diabetes, obesity or a family history of coronary artery disease are especially susceptible to PVD.  Complications of PVD can include poor wound healing, amputation (loss of a limb), heart attack, and stroke. WARNING SIGNS OF PVD include:

  • Numbness, tingling or coldness in the lower legs and feet

  • Sores on the legs that don't heal

  • Skin color changes on the legs and feet
