According to corporate information, Ann Taylor recharged its brand two years ago by hiring a new head fashion director. Last year, the retailer sought to rework its stores by opening concept stores in select cities. The concept stores are a reflection of the new fashion direction for the retailer. Each concept store has a “runway” of mannequins highlighting the season’s latest looks There are also special boutiques, such as Career Chic shops, a petites shop and an accessories shop, and personal stylists in each store. Another added feature is larger dressing rooms complete with plush carpeting and ottomans. Each store also has touch-screen monitors near the dressing rooms giving shoppers access to anntaylor.com to view and order items not available in the store.
