Woman's ID Stolen to Open Charter Communications Account

Kirkwood police are investigating after a woman reports someone used her personal information and opened an account with Charter Communications.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

May 3:

At 3:23 p.m., police took an identity theft report from a resident in the 100 block of East Madison. The victim said her name and social security number were used to open a Charter Communications account.

May 4:

At 12:40 p.m., a resident on Fortune Lane in Oakland called police to report an unauthorized charge on his credit card account. The victim discovered a fraudulent purchase for computer software made in Amsterdam, Netherlands. 

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Kirkwood Police Department at 314-822-5858.
