Fun for STL families on Sunday and Monday

STL parents! There is all kinds of fun to be had for kids and families Sunday and Monday in our area. KidsOutAndAbout's Patch blog has the scoop!

Get "out and about" for Sunday and Veterans Day! Here are some fun things to do with kids in the St. Louis area.

SUNDAY:

Sunday, November 10: National Park Service Fee Free Day - Veterans Day Weekend at The Gateway Arch. The National Park Service honors America's veterans with free entrance to all parks for all visitors over the 3-day Veterans Day weekend. This fee is included in the Arch tram and movie tickets, so enjoy a $3 discount Saturday through Monday!

Sunday, November 10: Veterans' Parade & Presentation at City of Florissant. A spectacular Veterans' Parade followed by a presentation of the Veteran of the Year award will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 10: Space Station @ the Omnimax , Jerusalem @ the Omnimax, and Flight of the Butterflies @ the Omnimax at Saint Louis Science Center. Experience life in zero gravity aboard the new station, take an inspiring and eye-opening tour of one of the world’s oldest and most enigmatic cities, and follow the epic journey of the iconic monarch butterfly in one of the most incredible migrations on Earth! Sunday, November 10: Keeper Talks at World Bird Sanctuary. Meet outside the Wildlife Hospital at 9 am and join our keepers as they feed and water our birds. Learn what they are, how they got here, and what they all eat.

Sunday, November 10: Fairy Tale Tea with Cinderella at The Magic House. The popular Fairy Tale Tea is back! Aspiring princes and princesses will enjoy some "tea" and treats, make a craft and watch a short production of "Cinderella." Meet your favorite characters and get their autographs!

Sunday, November 10: Family Sundays at the Art Musuem! at St. Louis Art Museum. You’re invited to the Museum every Sunday afternoon for hands-on art activities and a lively 30–minute family tour through the galleries. Each month’s family activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme. Family Tour leaves at 2:30 pm.

Sunday, November 10: Football the Exhibit at The Magic House. The highly interactive traveling exhibit, Football, introduces visitors to the science, mathematics & technology behind the game and how they relate to our everyday lives.

Sunday, November 10: "New Kid" - FREE Public Performances  at Metro Theater Company. Bring your family, friends, children of all ages, grandparents, scouts, or community group to a FREE performance and enjoy "NEW KID," a play that speaks to the rich diversity of our communities, at a location near you.

MONDAY:

Monday, November 11: Veteran's Day Tribute at St. Charles County Parks and Recreation. The St. Charles County Veterans Committee and St. Charles City Veterans Commission’s annual Veterans Day Program will be Monday, Nov. 11, 1:30 p.m., on the grounds of St. Charles County’s Historic Courthouse. The event is free and open to the public.

Monday, November 11: Veterans Day Ceremony at City of O'Fallon. The public is invited to attend O’Fallon’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony, which will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 11, at O’Fallon Veterans Memorial Walk, 800 Belleau Creek Road, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. Free parking is available.

Monday, November 11: Story Hour with the West County Little Gym at Whole Foods Market - Town & Country. At this story hour, West County Little Gym will read stories to the kids and bring in some fun activities for the kids to do using mats and other things they use to have fun with the kids at the gym. Be sure to have the kids wear comfortable cloths!

Monday, November 11: Superhero Camp at Saint Louis City Open Studio & Gallery. Anybody can be a hero….what kind would you be?

Monday, November 11: Art @Your Library: Foam Mosaics at St. Louis County Library - Lewis & Clark Branch. The ancient Romans loved to use pieces of colored stone to form beautiful patterns. We'll use this technique of collage with foam pieces of various shapes to craft a beautiful mosaic masterpiece to take home! Ages 6-11. Registration required. Free!

Monday, November 11: Tots-O-Fun: Barnyard Banter at St. Louis County Library - Grand Glaize Branch. What do farm animals do? Come find out. Crafts, games and other farmyard activities. Ages 2-6. Registration required. Room 1. Free!
