Finding That Next Great Read

Your Kirkwood Public Library can help you find that next great book -- for free!

Are you a voracious reader always on the lookout for what to read next? Your Kirkwood Public Library is here to help with several free resources so you’ll never be far from your next great book.

First stop--our staff blogs: KPL Staff Reads and Feed a Reader. Updated frequently, KPL Staff Reads features reviews of what you’re favorite librarians have been reading (and we tell it like it is). We often include themed book lists (do you like Janet Evanovich, Downton Abbey, or Gone Girl? Check out these read-alike lists!). We have a special section, New and Noteworthy , so you’ll always know when popular authors have a new book on the way.  If you’re a parent looking for great suggestions to share with your child, Feed a Reader is the place for you.

Have your library card handy and investigate Novelist, an online subscription database devoted to reading recommendations and information for book clubs.

Be sure to check out our Facebook page for book suggestions, fun book news and on Tuesday nights, live reading recommendations!

Last by certainly not least, email or stop by our Reference Desk and let us know what you’ve recently read and why you enjoyed it (or maybe didn’t enjoy!) and we’ll send you on your way with recommendations.  We love talking books. (The Children’s Departments loves to do this for kids and families as well!).
