Free Children's Party at Kirkwood Public Library

Celebrate Mo Willems this Saturday!

Stop by the Children’s Room at Kirkwood Public Library anytime between 10 am and 3 pm on Saturday October 12th for some serious book fun! We’ll have games and crafts featuring your favorite Mo Willems characters: Elephant and Piggie.

Elephant and Piggie is a hilarious book series for beginner readers that feature two friends: an elephant, Gerald, and a pig, Piggie. One of the favorites in our house, There is a Bird on Your Head, won the Geisel Medal in 2008. Other titles in the series have been listed on Time magazine's Top 10 Children's Books of the Year. Written in a wonderful conversation style, Elephant and Piggie deal with many aspects of friendship. Not only great for emergent readers, but these titles also are wonderful read alouds for younger kids. Find a listing of this series at your Kirkwood library here.

See you Saturday!
