4th Quarter Comeback Clinches Kirkwood Win Over Summit

Kirkwood (4-0) took their first lead of the game with just over two minutes left. The Pioneers hung on for a 28-24 win over Rockwood Summit (3-1) at the Edward Jones Dome.

  • RB Ramon Alton rushed the ball 24 times for 200 yards.  That is the most for any Pioneer player since DeAndre Buckner rushed for 200+ yards in consecutive games in the 2008 season.
  • LB Blake Goddard recorded 8 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack and 3 tackles for a loss of 15 yards.  LB Jarrod Bishop and DL Joshua Spiller also recorded sacks.
  • University of Iowa commit WR Andre Harris caught 6 passes for 81 yards.
  • Summit accumulated about 200 yards of offense in the first half, but less than 50 yards in the second half.
  • Summit LB Eric Beisel (committed to Mizzou) was on crutches and did not play.
