Kirkwood Football Prepares for Struggling Parkway West

PREVIEW: #1 Kirkwood Football (2-0) vs. Parkway West (0-2) on Friday, Sept. 7 in a Suburban South conference matchup.

The #1 ranked Kirkwood (2-0) Pioneer football team takes on the Parkway West (0-2) Longhorns at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 at . Both teams hope to start out Suburban South conference play on the right foot.

The Longhorns are led by sophomore QB Austin Sisk (#4) and senior RB Quentin Key (#24). The Longhorns only scored one touchdown in each of their first two games, but have been plagued by eight total turnovers in those games. The defense is anchored by senior LB Kris Maddox (#57) and a set of senior triplets: JC, John and Ryan DeMuri.

Kirkwood hopes to build on its . The Pioneers' only penalties came on special teams and they didn't turn the ball over despite wet conditions. Returning All-State senior RB Ramon Alton (#33) is still in search of his first 100 yard rushing game for the 2012 season. Senior QB Jordan Bishop (#7) has lead the offense with seven touchdowns (3 passing & 4 rushing).
